Waterfall with basaltic organ pipes in the heart of Skaftafell National Park.

My suggestion:
Along the trail that leads to the waterfall, don't hesitate to follow the signs indicating short detours to see other waterfalls.
My review

Svartifoss is an emblematic waterfall in Skaftafell National Park. It is approximately 25 metres high, but the shape of its basalt organ pipes makes it unique. The hike that leads there is easy and can be done with children. Nevertheless, beware in rainy weather when the steps can get slippery.

There are a few small waterfalls just off the trail. You can also see a group of 2 or 3 old farms with peat roofs, which have long been abandoned but have retained their charm.

If you continue along the trail after the waterfall, you can see it from far away in the middle of the greenery and admire a beautiful view that dominates the valley. As you go down, the view of the glacier is really worth the effort. You can thus grasp the immensity of the wilderness, with the lava fields far away...
