Day 1: Arrival in Venezuela And Transfer to Ciudad Bolivar

This is your international flight’s arrival day. You are going to take a correspondence national flight to Ciudad Bolívar or Puerto Ordaz (depending on flight availability). Your luggage arrives in Caracas at the international lobby, and you'll get these back after coming out of the plane. Once you’ve passed customs, you must follow the indication “Transit flights”. Once at the national hall, proceed to check-in. Anticipate 10 min to go from the international hall to the national one. A driver will pick you up at the airport and take you directly to your Posada in Ciudad Bolivar.

Day 2: Discover the Canaima Lagoon And Its Waterfalls

Departure at 07h00AM from your Posada to Ciudad Bolívar’s airport (15min). The next thing you'll be doing will be boarding your flight to Canaima. At your arrival, you’ll be free for the rest of the morning. Then you’ll have lunch at your camp at Canaima’s village. In the afternoon, you’ll take a boat trip across the Canaima lagoon along the Ucaima, Wadaima and Hacha waterfalls. You’ll also get to visit the Anatoly Island. Then you’ll hike across the island to the “Playita” (small beach), where you can swim and discover the “Sapo” (frog) and “Sapito” (small frog) waterfalls. Time of the visit: about 2h (1h walking) and a great swimming break at the base of Canaima waterfalls.

Day 3: Nautical Expedition To The Angel Falls

In the morning, you’ll be transferred by a small track to the little port of Ucaima. From here, a four hour boat trip will begin on "Carrao" and "Churrun" rivers, which will lead you to the 'Ratón' island. Then, you will reach the banks of the Angel Falls waterfalls. Afterwards, you will cross some rapids where you may be asked to disembark in order to facilitate the navigation.

Day 4: Back To Canaima

Early in the morning, in order to see the Angel Falls at sunrise, we will have to leave the camp at night and walk 01h30 (be careful: there are a lot of roots and the track may be difficult to walk through) to arrive at the foot of the highest waterfall in the world! Note: this walk is often done the day before at the end of the afternoon -only if you arrived early enough to the camp base. Return to our camp by foot (1h walk in the woods), then return to the Canaima lagoon after a 4h. boat trip. This is where you’ll take a flight back to Ciudad Bolivar (at the end of the morning or at the beginning of the afternoon) and then, you’ll be transferred to your posada in Ciudad Bolívar.

Day 5: Excursion In The Orinoco Delta

Departure from Ciudad Bolivar to San Jose de Buja at 06:30 am (250Km, 03h30 ride) by car. This is where we’ll start our boat trip by passing through the canals of the delta, until the moment we reach our camp (1h of navigation). This is a surprising and comfortable camp that gives you the possibility to sleep in individual rooms, just in the heart of the mangrove. Lunch at our camp (sort of buffet lunch). During the afternoon, you’ll make a trip by canoe through the canals, accompanied by native guides that will teach you the Waraos community traditions. On the agenda: dolphins’ observation, butterflies, parrots and an appetizer in the boat while watching the sunset.

Day 6: Meeting with Warao Native Tribe

In the morning, after a generous breakfast, you’ll leave the camp by foot, dressed with plastic boots, in order to visit the typical mangrove forest along with your native guide. This is an astonishing experience where you’ll learn how the natives live in such a hostile nature. Return to our camp for a well-deserved meal before you begin the piranha fishing adventure. You’ll have the pride to taste your captured fishes for diner!

Day 7: Walk Through The Mangroves

During the morning, you’ll go on a new excursion devoted to discover a “Waraos” community. After this visit, you will get to know a bit better about the interaction between our modern world and the traditional life of the Waraos. Along with your guide, you’ll be able to understand the positive and negative impact of these interactions. You’ll find some handicraft items; furthermore, the natives will teach you the fabrication of artisanal products. Return to San Jose de Buja in the afternoon, then you’ll be transferred by car to your hotel.

Day 8: Back to Caracas Airport

Transfer from your hotel to Maturin’s airport by car (30min.) where you’ll take a flight to Caracas. Once there, you can make the connection with your international flight back home. We recommend you to present yourself at the check-in counter of your international flight with 5h of anticipation.
